The courage and excitement of Reverent Vernon Bosch and the children from Heideveld Baptist Church, inspired the skippers that were practicing for the Great Optimist Race.
The aim of the Great Optimist Race is to raise awareness for inclusivity and diversity in sailing and the maritime industry. It was a windy day with gusts, but the children welcomed the challenge and enjoyed themselves thoroughly. They learnt about ocean health and proudly collected plastic from the canal to help keep the marine life safe.
