Delft Cheerleaders, 3 October 2026

On the 3rd of October we had the pleasure of hosting the Delft Cheerleaders at The Little Optimist.

On the day the wind was howling and conditions did not allow us to sail, but that did not mean the day was cancelled. The cheerleaders arrived full of energy and excitement, and as always our team was ready for them.

We started with an ice breaker game of Imposter, which we customised to our maritime and marine environment to keep it fun and educational. The girls engaged so well and brought such amazing energy to it.

We then took a walk around the V&A Waterfront. The aim of the walk was to highlight to them that there are so many more different activities and career opportunities open to them within our industry, far beyond just sailing.

A highlight of the day was when they performed one of their amazing cheers for us. As always, it blew our minds away – their passion, discipline and teamwork was incredible to witness.

This day highlighted the fundamental importance of how vast our maritime industry is, and it was also a beautiful reminder that small obstacles like the wind will never stop us from being optimistic.
