Boat Delivery – Durban to Cape Town (Josh)

Just wrapped up an unforgettable sailing trip from Durban to Cape Town and wow… what an experience.

Started the journey at Point Yacht Club in Durban — setting up the sails, getting everything ready with the crew. There was definitely excitement in the air, but also some nerves (and a LOT of gear to sort out).

The boat I was on — the MOST yacht — was insane. Sleek, fast, and honestly just a beast in the water. We spent a good amount of time prepping in the marina before setting off, and once we hit the open ocean, it all got real.

We had some stunning days at sea: calm skies, smooth sailing, and epic views — especially those sunrises and sunsets that made it all feel worth it. Had a few awesome chill moments on deck, soaking it all in, and just vibing with the ocean.

But let me tell you, it wasn’t all smooth. The wind and waves didn’t play nice the whole way. Some tough nights out there, barely any sleep, rough seas, and cold as hell at times. Sailing at night with just instruments and the ocean around you is another kind of test — mentally and physically.

Still, the crew was solid. Great energy, support, and laughs in between all the intense sailing. Arriving in Cape Town felt like a serious achievement. Seeing the city lights and docking in the V&A Waterfront at night was such a surreal and proud moment.

This trip pushed me, but I came out of it stronger, more confident, and with a huge respect for offshore sailing. Can’t wait for the next one.
