In the middle of Women’s month, the academy was visited by Bonteheuwel’s Cheerleaders, a group of young women conquering their fears one step at a time.

This courage was displayed once they started their sailing journey on the water. With winds and weather unpredictable, the girls proved that with guidance and encouragement, anyone is capable of sailing. The hesitation they had when getting into the boat was quickly overcome with accomplishment and confidence as they glided across the water. Their unwavering determination as the wind pushed and pulled only propelled them closer to their goal of becoming sailors.

At the end of the day we were approached with a group who no longer were afraid, but ecstatic to go sailing again.
