We had a wonderful day welcoming a youth group to the Little Optimist Sailing Academy!

When the children arrived in the morning, some were quiet, shy and a little nervous about trying something new. As the day went on, we shared Greg’s inspiring story, which reminded the children that no matter how difficult something may seem, we should never give up.

The story of the little frog was a special reminder to keep trying, even when things feel scary. Some children were nervous about getting onto the water, but with encouragement and support, they slowly found the courage to give it a try.

As the day continued, we saw more smiles, laughter and excitement. The children enjoyed sailing, learning new things, spending time with one another and taking part in our knot-tying activity.

It was beautiful to see how the children became more confident, started talking to one another and enjoyed every moment of the day. By the end, there were big smiles all around, and some even wished they could come sailing every day!

Days like these remind us that sailing is about so much more than being on the water. It is about building confidence, making friends, learning new skills and showing children that they are capable of more than they think.
