On 10 December kids from Bonteheuwel experienced sailing for the very first time.

These kids come from a highly under-resourced area, their home lives can be dangerous with exposure to drug addiction and gang violence.

A community member from Bonteheuwel selected kids from the area and we gave them a day to remember.

Learning in a fun environment about water safety, listening to stories of little people who have become huge hero’s and learning to sail their own Optimist!

The morning was jam packed with excitement.

The kids ended the day visiting the Two Oceans Aquarium for a self-tour – they spent hours viewing the beautiful marine life and went home full of hope.
