Talk about a year!

We had the privilege of wrapping the year up with our final one-day programme, welcoming our little friends from Bonteheuwel Sunday School . From the moment the boys and girls ran through our doors, you could feel the excitement. They were ready for what the day had in store.

We began the day with a check-in, giving everyone a moment to arrive and connect. The boys and girls then sat glued to their seats as they listened to stories, including one of our favorite superheroes, Terrance. Before long, they were all calling themselves the green frog that never gave up.

From there, we moved into a fun-filled energise, and the day truly came alive.

These boys and girls were different. They had heart.

From the very moment they stepped into their dinghies, they believed in themselves. They knew they could do anything. Our youngest sailor was just five years old, and in his tiny voic, he said, “Look here, I’m going to be a captain of a big boat when I grow up.”

The Mother City was covered in smiles and splashes. As the kids tied their knots. The granny knot quickly became a favorite, with giggles breaking out every time the sailing instructor said, “Now make the granny knot.”

We ended the day with a prize-giving, celebrating each and every one of our little friends in the best way we know how.

What a privilege it was to spend the day with our little friends from Bonteheuwel Sunday School. 🧡💙⛵
