Our founder, Greg Bertish, was invited to be a guest speaker at boot Düsseldorf, the biggest marine/boat show in the world.

It was an honour and a privilege for The Little Optimist to showcase our work at this huge international event.

Greg presented seven talks and workshops on two stages, covering topics such as Sailing Therapy, Inclusion and Equality in Sailing, and stories of his Optimist adventure around the Cape of Storms. We held three movie screenings of our documentary OPTIMIST, and Greg raced the actual Little Optimist boat against Olympic sailors, German celebrities, and children in an Optimist race, where he made the final.

Greg collaborated with and met up with supporters and sponsors like Bruce Tedder, Patrick Hemp, Ullman Sails, and Balance Catamarans, who were also at the show.

The event took place over nine days, featuring 1,500 exhibitors and 250,000 visitors. We thank boot Düsseldorf and Point of Sailing for hosting us, as well as everyone who made this amazing opportunity possible.
