Delft Drill Squad, 10 October 2026

On the 10th of October we hosted a drill squad group from Delft Cheerleaders.

They arrived as a ball of energy, buzzing and ready to go out for a sail. You could feel their excitement from the moment they stepped in.

We started by breaking the ice with a few fun games of “Grab the Ball” and getting to know each other. It was a great way to get everyone laughing, relaxed and connected before heading out onto the water.

Once we set sail, this group was incredible. Some of them were true adrenaline junkies who managed to take command of the boat unassisted, steering with so much confidence and courage. While others on the same boat really conquered their deep fear of water that day. That day I learnt that there is true beauty in contrast – bravery looks different for everyone, but it is equally powerful.

To close off the day, they gave us a drill performance right at the Waterfront. It was so powerful and precise that it got the attention of the entire Waterfront. Everyone stopped to watch and I personally joked to them that next time I’m going to bring my hat around and charge everyone watching, because a performance that good shouldn’t be free!

All in all, I truly enjoyed this group’s presence. Their energy, discipline and heart left a lasting impression on me.
