“It’s those ‘thank you for today’ moments…” Most of them never get to see life outside Heideveld. Today is a really big day in some of their lives.”

That’s what one of the educators shared at the end of our one-day program with our friends from Heideveld High, and honestly, it says everything.

We wrapped up April with a full, vibrant day alongside an incredible group. From the moment they walked through our doors, the excitement was real, whether it was during the energiser, story time, or learning how to tie knots.

This group? Special. The girls and boys showed up, ready with that “bring it on” energy all day. And let’s be honest, it takes real courage to try something new. Some hopped onto boats with their instructors, while others chose bravery in its boldest form and went for it on their own, guided step by step.

Before we knew it, the instructors were off the boats, and our friends had stepped into their shoes, taking their teachers out onto the water.

That’s the kind of courage you don’t forget.

And then came prize giving, pure magic. Every win was celebrated like a big one. There was singing, dancing, and of course… our favourite spicy drumroll.
