James House Inspiration Day

On 2 February 2021,  Greg and the Little Optimist team of volunteers, Rafilwe and Gloria,  visited James House in Hout bay .

James house is a youth care facility that assists Orphans and vulnerable youth in the community. jameshouse.org.za

We were privileged to meet and inspire two groups of 30 kids total,  between the ages of 8 and 12 years.   All were treated to a fun talk, the inspirational cartoon movie The Little Optimist, and each received a Teddy, a Little optimist Book in their native tongue , as well as some stationary. Educational  Books and a Giant Teddy were also donated to their library.

Thanks to all our sponsors and supporters of the day: Two Oceans Marine, Italtile , Ullman sails, Crazy Store, AFS.

Spanish volunteer Gloria wrote this of the day;

“Our beloved “Little optimist boat”  was  instilling Hope, love and optimism at James House in Hout Bay. I had the honour to assist with the presentation to  two lovely groups of kids, from different schools. All were Orphans and foster kids and needed some inspiration and happiness.  They were taught to never ever give Up,  fight for your dreams and never lose  Hope!  the kids watched the beautiful and motivational cartoon movie about our “little optimist” where the little boat was showing the kids that, being different doesn’t meant to be worse  than the rest. Trusting ourselves and believing you can do whatever you want, are the greatest weapon we  can use to fight for oG;our future.  so NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER STOP PUSHING FOR YOUR DREAMS AND KEEP SMILING AND DOING GOOD!! “
