Brainstorming with the Crew
It is important for us at The Little Optimist to give every team member an opportunity to share their ideas and ask questions.
Our recent discussion was about creating a logic model together as a team, that made sense to us all and that we can share with stakeholders.A logic model explains the activities we do at the Trust, the outputs and outcomes we want to achieve.
Montessori Principles at The Little Optimist Academy
Observation forms the cornerstone of Montessori education. It is a skill that requires mindfulness, respect and understanding. You need to know how, why and what you are observing. It should always be in the best interest of the child (beneficiary). Erica McCune is an experienced Montessori Educator and taught the crew how to observe and record their insights about the effects of storytelling, sailing and connections formed with beneficiaries. These observations will further support our claim that even one day CAN make a difference in a young person’s life. It will also form part of the monitoring and evaluation tools for our multi-day programs coming soon…
